7 Creative Ways to Use Mini Wood Tags in Your Home Decor
Share
Have you ever seen a cute craft blank and thought, “I love it...but what would I actually DO with it when I'm finished?”
I've heard that question quite a few times about our Mini Tag Blanks, so I thought it would be fun to show you just how versatile these little guys can be!
They're one of those simple blanks that can look completely different depending on the napkin, paint colors and embellishments you choose. Even better, there are so many ways to actually USE them in your home once you're finished.
Here are a few of my favorites!
1. Hang Them on a Decorative Ladder
One of the easiest ways to display mini tags is simply to hang them!
I used two coordinating fall tags on one of our decorative ladders in my kitchen. They add just a little something extra without taking over the entire display.

This is also an easy way to change your decor from season to season. Just swap out the tags and you have a whole new look!
2. Add Them to a Small Wreath
Here's the fun part. These are the SAME pumpkin tags!
Instead of hanging them from the ladder, I added them to the center of a small fall wreath. I love being able to take something I've already made and find another way to use it.

A mini tag is just the right size to add a focal point to a smaller wreath without covering up all of those pretty greens or florals.
3. Layer Coordinating Tags Together
You don't always need an elaborate display. Sometimes two pretty tags hanging together are enough!
For this set, I used coordinating designs so the tags complement each other without matching exactly.

This is one of my favorite things about working with napkin bundles. The coordinating prints make it easy to create pieces that look like they were meant to go together.
4. Use One as a Small Decor Accent
A single mini tag can be tucked into so many places around your home.
Add one to a tray, shelf, basket, centerpiece or little seasonal vignette. It's an easy way to bring in a pop of color or seasonal pattern without creating an entirely new display.

And because they're small, they're also a great way to use those napkin designs you love without needing a large project.
5. Create a Coordinating Hanging Set
Instead of displaying just one, create two or three coordinating tags and hang them together.
Add ribbon, twine or wooden beads and you have an easy little accent that can hang from a peg, hook, cabinet knob, decorative ladder or anywhere else that needs a little something.

And don't think these are only for fall and Christmas!

Change the napkins and colors and the same little blank can work for just about any season.
6. Hang them from a Vase
Here's another one I tried! Simply hang a coordinating pair from the neck of a vase or off of one of the stems. I've even tucked a wooden spoon or dowel rod (hidden) inside as a way to hang them and you could do so individually or as a pair.

6. Make Them Reversible!
Why decorate just one side when you can use both?
I recently made this set with a fall design on one side and Christmas on the other. When I'm ready to put away the pumpkins and leaves, all I have to do is flip the tags around and they're ready for Christmas!

It's such an easy way to get more use out of one little project, especially during those seasons when we're already changing our decor.
And with all of the new Christmas napkins that just arrived in the shop, there are so many fun combinations you could create for the other side!
Even More Ways to Use Your Mini Tags
And those are just a few of the possibilities! Once you start looking around your home, you'll probably find even more places where one of these little tags could add a fun finishing touch.
Try tying one to a basket handle, adding one to a tiered tray, using one as a gift topper, hanging one from a cabinet or doorknob, or even turning several coordinating tags into a mini garland. They could also become ornaments, shelf sitters, napkin accents or part of a seasonal centerpiece.
Sometimes it's the smallest little details that make a display feel finished!

One Little Blank. So Many Possibilities!
That's what I love about having simple craft bases on hand. You don't necessarily need a completely different blank every time you want to make something new.
Change the napkin. Change the colors. Add some ribbon, beads or greenery. Display it in a different way.
Suddenly that same little Mini Tag Blank becomes something completely different!
So if you've ever looked at these and wondered what you would actually DO with them, hopefully this gives you a few ideas to get started.
Which way would you use yours?
